Many people identify as Christians, yet daily life still reveals a deep need for biblical understanding, discipleship and spiritual formation. Busy schedules also leave many believers with little time or guidance for personal Bible study.
Berean Bible Study Ministries was established by Pastor Byonanebye Michael in 2026 to respond to this need. We offer sound teaching, personal engagement and practical resources, working alongside churches and pastors rather than replacing them.
The 2024 Uganda National Population and Housing Census reports that Christians make up approximately 84.3% of Uganda’s population. Yet serious social challenges remain. We believe this contrast reveals an urgent need for discipleship rooted in the careful study and faithful application of Scripture.

Why this ministry is needed
Removing barriers to regular Bible study
Many believers value Scripture but lack the time, confidence, tools or support needed to develop a consistent habit.
- Limited systematic Bible teaching and an overreliance on topical preaching.
- Busy schedules that crowd out regular time for Scripture.
- Fear or confusion caused by the Bible’s size, literary styles and difficult concepts.
- Poor reading habits, limited literacy and insufficient access to audio or simplified resources.
- Vision difficulties, particularly among older believers who need reading eyeglasses.
- Limited access to Bibles, commentaries, dictionaries, concordances and other study tools.
- Insufficient emphasis on helping children develop an early love for God’s Word.
- Communities, prisoners and unreached people groups with little access to biblical teaching.

Founder’s profile
Pastor Byonanebye Michael
Born in Kabale and raised in Masaka and Kampala, Pastor Michael trained in pharmacy before following God’s call into full-time ministry. More than twenty years of Christian life, theological preparation and pastoral service have shaped his commitment to Bible-centred discipleship.
He is currently completing a Bachelor’s degree in Theology at Africa Renewal University.
Michael became a born-again Christian while completing his A-Level studies at Kigezi High School.
He served in Christian Union leadership at Mulago Paramedical School and received confirmation of God’s call to full-time ministry.
He married Evelyn Orishaba. They are blessed with five children.
After training at Calvary Chapel Kampala Bible College, he joined the Soroti Calvary Chapel School of Ministry and later served as a pastor for eight years.
He moved to Mbarara with fellow ministers, helped plant Calvary Chapel Kakiika and founded Berean Bible Study Ministries.
