Pastor Michael Byonanebye shares how Berean Bible Study Ministries helps individuals, communities and churches engage deeply with God’s Word.
Hello, praise the Lord!
My name is Pastor Michael Byonanebye, the founder of Berean Bible Study Ministries. Thank you for giving me a few minutes to share what we do.
We are a non-denominational parachurch organisation. This means we work with all churches and Christians to promote the study of God’s Word. We believe Scripture is an essential part of the Christian life and that our walk with Christ cannot be effective without knowing and applying His Word.
Our desire is to remove practical barriers and help every person grow through careful, consistent and life-changing Bible study.
For individuals and Christians
We meet people where they are and offer practical support for reading, understanding and living God’s Word.
We encourage every believer to own a printed Bible and recommend using at least two translations for effective study. We make Bibles available at affordable prices and provide them free to people who cannot afford one, subject to ministry guidelines.
We take time to answer questions about the Bible that may hinder or discourage people from reading it.
We guide people into daily Bible study through our devotions, app, website and social media; teach inductive Bible study; and help them find trustworthy study resources.
For people who are unable to read, we help locate a free audio Bible in a language they understand.
For people whose eyesight makes Bible reading difficult, we provide affordable reading eyeglasses and, under ministry guidelines, free support for those unable to pay.
We encourage the use of carefully selected Christian films that show how God’s Word can be applied in everyday life, and make these available under ministry guidelines.
We design affordable Scripture art and clothing that help families keep God’s Word visible in daily life.
We provide platforms where people can ask Bible questions, find helpful answers and hear life-changing testimonies that encourage commitment to the Word.
We organise mission trips that give believers an opportunity to share the Gospel with unreached people groups.
Community outreach
We visit people in prison, share materials that help them grow in God’s Word and guide them through progressive levels of biblical training.
We help people whose employment includes significant free time—such as security personnel—use that time for Bible courses and spiritual growth.
We create opportunities for young people who are passionate about the Gospel to serve alongside the ministry.
For local churches
We work alongside local churches, supporting their leaders and strengthening their Bible-teaching ministry.
We partner with churches to hold holiday Bible rallies that motivate children to know and love their Bibles.
When invited by a church, we spend a week teaching people how to study and understand the Bible and responding to their questions about Scripture.
We provide churches with Bible resources and software that support more effective study of God’s Word.
We connect pastors and committed Christians with opportunities to advance their education, especially in theological studies.
We provide audio Bible Proclaimers free of charge to churches that form listening groups of at least five people.
We equip churches with the knowledge needed to begin online services and reach more people.
We help churches build useful websites at a cost they can manage.
We help fill ministry gaps when pastors need sabbatical leave or are carrying unusually heavy responsibilities.
